Patrick & Sara Claffey
We are an independent family run business that has managed to help thousands of people achieve great results. We have a team of experienced CrossFit coaches dedicated to your success. Our mission is to help busy people get fit, enjoy fitness and stay healthy. We are here to help you achieve your goals. Meet Patrick Claffey Founder, Owner, Coach and Managing Director. Playing football at a high level gave Patrick a great foundation to transition into the fitness industry from the age of 18. With over 20 years’ experience in the industry, a university degree and significant business accomplishments, Patrick has honed his skills in getting people fit and healthy from 121 sessions, group training, CrossFit and nutrition coaching. Patrick finds the most rewarding part of his work to be coaching and helping people achieve their fitness goals. Seeing clients develop and succeed with a little help and guidance through the process brings Patrick immense satisfaction. Meet Sara Claffey Founder, Owner and Social Media Marketing Manager. Training inspired Sara to make a significant career change from working at the General Medical Council to becoming the company’s social media and marketing Manager. Sara is passionate about using social media to inspire and motivate others to adopt healthy habits and embrace training. She leverages her platforms to share tips, success stories, and expert advice, fostering a supportive community where everyone can thrive on their fitness journey. Her engaging content and genuine enthusiasm help others realise their potential and make lasting positive changes in their lives.
Mel Brzezinka
My passion for fitness ignited during my time in the Army, where I trained to become a Physical Training Instructor (PTI) in the Royal Signals. Over the past 10 years, I have competed in CrossFit, Weightlifting, Strongman, Hyrox, Marathons and Powerlifting, gaining extensive experience and knowledge in these disciplines. During my own pregnancy and postpartum recovery, I trained diligently and developed a deep commitment to helping busy mums regain their fitness and confidence. My training philosophy centres on empowerment and promoting fitness for life. I am dedicated to sharing my expertise to support others on their fitness journeys.

Hi my name is Ash, I am a CrossFit coach at CrossFit Didsbury and I have over 7 years of CrossFit experience from a variety of different gyms. I have a real passion for CrossFit as it gives people an escape from everyday life, to have fun and to learn new things whilst improving their overall health & fitness. As a coach I love to motivate and give people the confidence to push themselves to achieve things that they never thought they could do. My coaching style is to keep things simple and effective and most importantly keep people motivated.

Hi, I’m Sian and I’ve been coaching CrossFit for over 6 years. I’m passionate about helping people improve their health, fitness & wellbeing. I believe in keeping standards high whilst making training fun – I think people should walk away from the gym feeling that they’ve had the best hour of their day. It’s a privilege as a coach to help people of all ages work towards their goals – whether it’s sports specific training, improving general fitness or returning from injury. I can’t wait to meet you!

Dylan Whelan
My passion and interest in the fitness industry began by playing various sports to a high level and always being curious about the “performance” side of sport, was emphasised further when I suffered a serious injury in 2017 which left myself out of sport for 15 months and it clarified my interest to want to work in the industry.
Throughout my 4 year degree in Ireland I worked with various populations through personal training and also an elite football team which included periodisation of programming and carrying out performance testing as well over seeing the use of GPS technology, have experience of working with people of all age groups and love being able to impact peoples lives in a positive.

Hugh Spencer
From a young age I have always loved sports and fitness. I enjoy weightlifting, touch rugby and football, amongst many other sports!
After studying sport science and strength and conditioning, naturally I got into coaching and personal training – I have helped many clients achieve their sport and fitness goals over the years. Having worked as an S&C
coach in professional sport (Sale Sharks, Manchester City academy, Burnley FC academy and Wellington Phoenix) I have gained valuable experience working with elite athletes.
After a year away traveling in New Zealand, I have decided to pursue my dreams
of opening a clinic to bridge the gap between physiotherapy and strength and conditioning. I recently enrolled on the Pre-registration Msc in physiotherapy at MMU and look forward to putting my learning into practice at Rx Physio.

I have a deep passion for staying active and helping others do the same.
Before completing my MSc in Physiotherapy at Manchester Metropolitan University, I spent almost a decade as a Massage Therapist and Sports Therapist, working across Canada and the UK. This experience taught me the value of an integrated approach by combining manual therapy, education, and exercise to achieve long-lasting results.
I’ve had the privilege of working with Olympic medalists at British Cycling, professional athletes in various field sports, Hollywood actors, and an endless amount of weekend warriors such as myself. I believe that with the right guidance, everyone can move better, feel stronger, and reach their full potential.
I’m excited to join Rx Physio, where I aim to help you take charge of your health and performance. Whether you’re rehabilitating an injury, trying to decode your random aches and pains, or aiming to level up your performance, I look forward to helping you move better, feel stronger, and stay active for the long haul.
